Starting a vlog? Read this
If you are looking at starting a vlog, then this one is for you.
As I’m sure you are well aware, I’m very big on vlogging, since starting it not too long ago in 2018. Now 42 weeks in, I’m already seeing the benefits to my business, my businesses brand, and my own personal brand. It’s actually one of the driving factors that spun off this website!
I say this, as my expectations were much lower. Vlogging isn’t something you do today, to bring in customers next week. It’s a long game.
I didn’t think that anything would happen for a year, perhaps 2 years or more – but at 42 weeks in there is already a tangible ‘thing’ which I can say is down to vlogging on a regular basis.
What do you need
For those of you wanting to start your own vlog, here is a simple summary of what you will need to get started in producing one of similar quality to mine.
Shooting on your iPhone or mobile device? Great – it’s a good place to start, to get footage whilst you’re out an about, and you can even get tripods and microphones that will improve the quality of your video.
What I will be talking about below is a more ‘prosumer’ range of equipment, and it’s a great place to start if you want to be putting out professional video content for your business.
This list comes to around £1,500 to £2,000 all together, but please use it as a starting guide for those wanting to really commit to creating professional video content. You’ll find that if done right, you’ll get your investment back (and more!) in the not too distant future.
I’ve added in some options for those wanting to spend a little more to get that slightly better quality and features, so decide what fits in to your budget.
